Outdoor Patio Renovation in North Austin, TX
This North Austin patio started as an underused outdoor space with an aging tin roof, ornamental iron posts, and no real connection to the home. The homeowners wanted a functional, welcoming backyard designed for entertaining — with better access, better structure, and a true focal point for outdoor living. Owner, Bert Bell led the design and construction process, coordinating every detail before the project began.
We removed the old tin roof and ornamental iron posts completely and converted the existing bay window into a backdoor to create easy, natural access from the house to the patio. New scored concrete flooring was installed throughout the outdoor space, and a custom cedar pergola was built to provide shade and define the entertaining area.
The centerpiece of the renovation is a custom curved fire pit built from Texas limestone, with integrated bench seating wrapping around it for a comfortable, social layout. The finished patio gives the homeowners a cohesive, well-designed outdoor living space that works beautifully for everyday use and entertaining guests.
