Primary & Guest Bathroom Remodels in North Austin, TX 78759
This Bering Cove Baths project tackled two full bathroom remodels in a 1970s North Austin home -- both spaces needing complete overhauls to replace dated layouts, framed-in closets, and original finishes. The homeowners wanted brighter, more functional spaces with modern fixtures and improved storage throughout. Owner Bert Bell reworked both bathrooms from the ground up, finalizing scope and selections before demo to keep the project organized from start to finish.
Primary Bathroom: Everything came out from floor to ceiling. The wall between the bathroom and closet was removed to open the layout, and full-height storage cabinets, soffits, and the framed-in shower were eliminated. Plumbing supply and drain lines were relocated in the foundation for the new double-bowl vanity and walk-in shower. The updated primary bathroom features a white shaker vanity with granite countertops, two motion-sensor mirrors, and a low-iron frameless glass shower for a clean, bright finish.
Guest Bathroom: The guest bath received an equally thorough overhaul. The framed-in corner closet, soffits, and dividing wall between the tub and vanity were all removed to open the space. Plumbing lines were relocated in the foundation to accommodate a new layout with a soaking tub and shower, low-iron frameless glass, and recessed wall niches. The main shower wall is accented with 8x8 Apache Black tile for bold contrast. A built-in storage area with towel cubbies and a makeup desk adds practical functionality to the finished space.
Both bathrooms now feel dramatically more open and functional than their original 1970s starting point -- a clean, modern transformation in the heart of North Austin.
