Rental Home Kitchen Remodel in Austin, TX
This Brentwood rental home was one of the investment properties owned by the same client for whom we completed the Lake Austin Bungalow remodel. The original galley kitchen dated back to the 1960s, with aging cabinets, laminate countertops, outdated appliances, and a layout that felt tight and dark. Owner, Bert Bell reworked the plan to modernize the space, improve the flow, and create a clean, durable kitchen ideal for a rental home.
We removed everything from floor to ceiling and opened the wall at the end of the galley to extend the kitchen and bring in more natural light. The new cabinetry is frameless, slab‑door style with a wood‑grain laminate finish, built to the ceiling for maximum storage and easy maintenance. Stainless steel appliances—including a gas range, refrigerator, microwave, and dishwasher—were added for reliability and a modern look.
The result is a bright, functional kitchen that feels significantly larger and more updated than the original 1960s layout. The homeowner appreciated the efficient process and the attention to detail, which led to additional projects on his other properties.
