Kitchen Remodel Near Circle C North, Austin TX 78737
This large 1980s home in Oak Hill, just minutes from Circle C North, needed a full kitchen overhaul -- original layout, dated oak cabinets, tile countertops, wood panel walls, and fluorescent lighting throughout. The homeowners wanted a brighter, more open space with modern functionality, so Owner Bert Bell reworked the entire plan from floor to ceiling. All scope and selections were finalized before demo to keep the project organized and predictable from start to finish.
The wall between the kitchen and dining area came out completely, with a four-ply structural LVL beam installed to safely carry the load across the new open span. Plumbing and electrical were fully relocated, including a new 50-amp circuit for the oven and microwave combo. The wood paneling on the walls and ceiling was removed and the ceiling height was raised, giving the space a completely different scale and feel.
The most unique feature of this remodel is the walk-through pantry hidden behind two full-height cabinet doors -- open them and you step into a full pantry room with shelving on both sides that leads directly to a secondary garage entry. The kitchen was completed with an induction cooktop, wall-mount chimney hood, 42-inch built-in refrigerator, and flush-mount double wall oven. A dedicated bar area was added with a sink, under-counter ice maker, and beverage cooler. Dark dye-stained shaker cabinetry, granite countertops, a travertine Versailles pattern backsplash in the kitchen, and a linear stone and glass mosaic at the bar tie the whole space together. Graphite Oak wood plank flooring runs throughout.
The finished Circle C North kitchen remodel is a dramatic transformation from its 1980s starting point -- open, functional, and designed around the way this family lives today. The homeowners noted Bert's design expertise, professionalism, and clear communication throughout, and have already been recommending KBB to others.

“We hired Kitchens by Bell for a complete kitchen remodel (rip and replace). We removed walls, lifted ceilings, etc. Bert’s design experience shows very quickly as he was able come up with great suggestions on how to tackle some one-off items. He’s a very relatable person and showed great professionalism explaining in detail the tasks accomplished and the next steps with things to expect during the next phase. We’re working on hiring him again for living room remodel next. Would highly recommend (in fact have many times).” – Mark S. (Austin, TX)
