Kitchen Remodel in Davis Hill, Austin TX 78748
This Davis Hill kitchen started as a closed-in space with two dividing walls, a peninsula, and finishes that no longer fit the home. The homeowners wanted an open layout with better flow and modern functionality, so Owner Bert Bell reworked the entire plan and finalized all scope and selections before demo to keep the project organized from start to finish.
We removed everything from floor to ceiling and opened the kitchen by taking out both walls and replacing the old peninsula with a new island. Plumbing and electrical were fully relocated, including a dedicated circuit for the built-in oven and microwave combo. The new kitchen features Fantasy Brown granite countertops, beige frameless shaker cabinetry with a cream subway tile backsplash, an induction cooktop with chimney hood, built-in oven and microwave, and a Dakota composite sink with touch-technology faucet. Storage cabinets were added to the back of the island for extra functionality, and wood-look porcelain tile was installed throughout the first floor for a cohesive, durable finish.
A dedicated wine area was built out with a wine cooler, stemware storage, and open wine racks -- a clean, purpose-built addition that gave the homeowners exactly the entertaining space they were after.
The project extended well beyond the kitchen. Bert also replaced the fireplace facade, front door, and stair carpet with solid hardwood -- giving the entire first floor a unified, updated look. The finished Davis Hill kitchen remodel is brighter, more open, and built around the way this family actually lives.
