Guest Bathroom Remodel in South Austin, TX
This small guest bathroom, original to the 1990s home, needed a full update to replace the aging finishes and improve everyday functionality. The homeowners wanted a clean, modern look with a walk‑in shower and updated cabinetry. Owner, Bert Bell reworked the entire plan, finalizing the scope and selections before demo to keep the project organized from start to finish.
We removed everything from floor to ceiling and replaced the existing tub with a new walk‑in shower. The shower walls were tiled to the ceiling with 10x30 patterned Palazzo Grey tile, paired with a frameless, tempered, low‑iron glass enclosure for a clean, open feel. The bathroom floor was finished with 12x24 Fossil Smoke tile for a modern, durable surface.
The new vanity and over‑the‑toilet cabinets were built in a frameless shaker style and finished with a dark brown dye stain for contrast. Venatino quartz was used for the vanity top, and the space was completed with a new vanity mirror, updated lighting, a new toilet, and a shaker‑style entry door to match the updated look.
The finished bathroom is brighter, more functional, and far more modern than the original 30‑year‑old layout, giving the home a fresh, updated guest space.
