Contemporary Kitchen Remodel -- Barton Creek, Austin TX 78735
This Barton Creek Modern Flair project was part of a full high-end home remodel on a large 1980s property in Austin's Barton Creek neighborhood. The general contractor handled the overall renovation, and Owner Bert Bell was brought in to design, build, and install all custom cabinetry throughout the home -- covering the kitchen, great room, and two bathrooms. The homeowners wanted a clean, contemporary look with integrated appliances and furniture-grade details, and that brief shaped every cabinet in the house.
The kitchen cabinetry was built to house a serious appliance lineup: a 48-inch Sub-Zero gas rangetop, double wall ovens, a built-in Sub-Zero refrigerator, a built-in column wine refrigerator, and a fully integrated Miele coffee machine. All cabinets are frameless slab-door style, finished with a dark chocolate six-stage dye staining process that gives the kitchen its rich, contemporary character. The 12-foot island anchors the space with recessed bookshelves on one end and barstool seating along the back -- functional and furniture-grade from every angle.
The same design language carried through the rest of the home. The great room features floating base cabinets and large floating shelves flanking the fireplace. In the bathrooms, the cabinetry includes integrated seating areas, floating shelves, and a custom TV cabinet -- details that elevated the spaces well beyond standard vanity work.
The result is a cohesive, contemporary cabinetry package that ties the entire Barton Creek home together, room by room.
